Objectives


  • To provide a thorough knowledge of the principles and concepts pertinent to information technology applications.
  • To prepare students for unfamiliar and changing information technologies through their practical application so that a will for life-long learning is inculcated.
  • To develop systems approach and critical analysis skills in identifying problems and opportunities that are amenable to information technology application.
  • To develop skills in applying creative thinking abilities and systems design methods in developing information technology based systems to solve problems and/or explore opportunities.
  • To develop interpersonal communication skills and attitudes for effective and collaborative team work with information systems users.
  • To emphasize ethical, societal and global issues of current and future applications of information technologies.
