Who are we?

The Group of New Economists, the GNE, is a group that has recently been
established by a group of Economics students. It is a group that aims
mainly to serve the students that have majored Economics and the
Economics department as a whole.

Our Mission
|

To both mentally and practically understand the different aspects of
Economics in order to be well prepared for the job after
graduation.

Our Vision
|
|
To establish the club and have at least three activities accomplished by
the end of the second semester of the year 2003/2004.

Our Goals
|
|
To gain analytical skills that would help us afterwards in the “real” world, that is by:
i) Studying real life cases that take place in Kuwait and internationally and observe how they effect the economy locally, in the Gulf region and in the World.
ii) Establish a monthly “common room” in which a different instructor is in charge every time. In this common room different discussions take place about “economics” as a whole. The feedback from the instructor and from the other students would help the student to develop his thoughts and point of view.
iii) Setup quarterly seminars by appointing people from the society that have had experience that would help the students.
iv) Understand how economics is used in the private sector.
v) Keeping an update file of expected future forces that will have economical affects on Kuwait , the Gulf region and the World.
