  Workshop  Aim and Objective 

Through this one day workshop, QMIS is aiming to create  a forum where by researchers within QMIS Department and outside present their research activities encouraging interdisciplinary approach within the domain of Logistic and supply chain management and information system and other academic disciplines of interest.  We hope that this scientific event would be quite unique and challengeable and bring some interesting research ideas and future joint research activities among interested parties.

The strategic objectives of the workshop  are:

•  Explore the importance of Supply Chain Management   and Information Systems   for  globalisation.

•  Identify major challenges and development for SCM, IS and also logistics.

•  Explore possibilities for research collaboration between disciplines within the department and outside.

•  Encourage interdisciplinary research inline with CBA objectives and AACSB requirement

Abstract: Several information security techniques are available today to protect information systems against   unauthorized use, duplication, alteration, destruction and virus attacks. In this talk, we introduce some of the current security challenges facing E-Business communities with an emphasis on the development of Intrusion detection and
prevention systems. We further present some of the challenges in designing efficient intrusion detection systems, which could provide high accuracy, low false alarm rate and reduced number of features. Finally, we present some future research directions and the development of intrusion prevention systems.
