Kuwait University is committed to internationalization and facilitates the diversification of the student community through the study abroad and student exchange programs.

Through our semester exchange program, Kuwait University aims to provide students with a meaningful overseas experience, incorporating study which counts towards their degree. This program aims to enhance the academic, cultural, and social career of Kuwait university students to study across leading international unievrsities over the world.

The student exchange program is is administered/ functioning /running under the supervision of Dr Firyal Bou-Rabee, Vice President for Academic Affairs. This web page provide students of Kuwait university with relevant information about the student exchange program.

Mission

SEP mission is to help people gain understanding, acquire knowledge, and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world. Throughout this, SEP services to studentsí education abroad are more important than ever. It can help make the world a better place for all and share a collective sense of fulfillment in our contributions to society

 

Vision

SEP is a key component of the international profile of Kuwait university partners. Members cooperate as equal partners in a spirit of trust and mutual support to offer high-quality programs and further the internationalization of their campuses, collectively achieving goals beyond their individual reach. While SEP reciprocal exchange and study abroad programs enable Kuwait university students to experience intellectual, social, and personal growth through immersion in another culture, Kuwait university also has enough exchange spaces for every abroad qualified student to go on exchange at itsí campus.

Outbound Exchange Program

SEP Eligibility Criteria

The student Exchange Program is opened to any student of Kuwait university who must  fulfill the following conditions:

 

Undergraduate students

Graduate students

  • Must be accredited at Kuwait University and no disciplinary sanctions taken against him/her

  • Must already passed four semesters at Kuwait university

  • Number of passed credits should be minimum 60

  • GPA above 3

  • Should be enrolled in a major

  • Study abroad minimum nornal load as in Kuwait university (i.e. 4 courses)

  • Need to study 15 credits at Kuwait university upon the completion of the SEP abroad

  • Fluency in English

  • The GPA of the student will not be affected upon his return to KU if he passes the courses

  • Must be accredited at Kuwait University and no disciplinary sanctions taken against him/her

  • Must already passed one semester at KU

  • Number of credit passed (minimum 09)

  • GPA above 3.5

  • Study only  one semester abroad

  • Need to study 09 credits at Kuwait university upon the completion of the SEP abroad

  • Fluency in English

  • The GPA of the student will not be affected upon his return to KU if he passes the courses

Outbound Exchange Student Benefits

  • Free registration fee for the exchange semester

  • Monthly payment that covers books, transportation, and living expenses.

  • Refundable for visa and medical insurance bills.

  • Voucher of Economy-Class Flight Ticket on Kuwait Airways

Accommodation

Living in university housing: If accepted free dormitory for accepted student

Student is allowed to submit an application form of accommodation, if he/she is one of the following

  • Student of scholarship whom parent live abroad.

  • Visiting Student at KU Exchange Program.

  • Student of special social cases

Transportation

Free transportation is offered to students enrolled in the student exchange program between different colleges at Kuwait university
