Director Message |
The key to enter the twenty first century is through information technology (IT). The third millennium would not open its doors to those that don’t own IT infrastructure and are incapable of implementing and developing IT services.
The challenge is not using IT and utilizing its capabilities but rather keeping up with the vast technological advances and competing with the rest of the developed world.
The Information Technology Center at the College of Business Administration has accepted this challenge to transfer the University to the 21st century of digital computing.
This challenge has motivated the Center to have a vision. A vision that determines a mission which in turn emanates objectives to be implemented.
The objectives that are to be reached and the goals that have been achieved are as follows:
-
Provide an infrastructure necessary to allow faculty, students and staff access to all University computing resources and to communicate among themselves.
-
Complete the CBA new campus network.
-
Improve the Internet connectivity and speed in order to allow faculty, students and staff access the World Wide Web.
Install networked applications such as electronic mail, electronic global directory (faculty, student and staff), etc.
-
Implement Intranet Services in CBA to provide global University connectivity among all levels of users.
-
Provide technical services, training and consultation to the academic and administrative IT users.
-
Standardize our information architecture.
-
Manage all College computing and networking equipment in an efficient way.
-
Provide a secure computing environment.
