Eligibility & Process

Each year the College of Business Administration (CBA) at Kuwait University provides Master and Ph.D. scholarships in Marketing, Management, Accounting, Economics, Management Information Systems (MIS), Operation Management, and Public Management. The objective of the CBA is to recruit highly-qualified persons who wish to pursue Masters and Ph.D in one of the business majors’ disciplines and prepare them for a career in teaching and research at the CBA

Eligibility to Apply in this scholarship program:
|
In general, applicants should consider applying for the CBA scholarships when they:
- Are Kuwaiti citizens.
- Age of applicants should not exceed 30 years for master and Ph.D degrees, and 35 years for PhD
degree only.
- Have a cumulative undergraduate GPA and MGPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants with a Master or MBA degree
who wish to apply for a Ph.D. scholarship should have a graduate GPA and MGPA of at least 3.3 out of 4.0 at the time of application.
- Have a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of at least 220.
- Have a GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) score of at least 50 0. This test is required for those who wish to
acquire a scholarship in Marketing, Management, Finance, MIS, OPM or Accounting. Applicants seeking a scholarship in
Economics, MIS, OPM, and Public Management should have a GRE (Graduate Record Examination) score of at least
1000.

Application Process: |
- Applicants should fill out a Scholarship Application Form available at the Cultural Division - Khaldiya - and attach all required documents.
- Each Department Scholarship Committee sets an interview with its applicants. Applicants who pass their department interview will be asked to set for a second interview with the College Scholarship Committee. An applicant is considered a candidate for a CBA scholarship if he/she passes the College Scholarship Committee interview.

Candidacy Process: |
- During the first 12 to18 months of the candidacy period, candidates should obtain a full admission to a Masters, MBA or PhD program from an
accredited university. Each department in the CBA provides its candidates with a list of accredited U.S. business schools. This list is also available at the Scholarship office of the CBA, or simply can be download from the Scholarship office’s web site.
- Candidates must abide by the rules set forth by the CBA and Kuwait University.

Evaluation Criteria: |
Multidisciplinary committees evaluate applicants based on:
- Academic background and knowledge.
- Experience.
- Communication skills and ability to demonstrate.
- Absorption capacity.
- Personality and self-confidence .
